I Need A Vacation...Cancun?

Updated: Mar 11

I am so lucky to have such great friends. Who could resist an invitation from my friend, Kristi to go to Cancun? A week with her closes friends to her timeshare at the Westin LagunaMar Resort and Spa! Lord knows, I could use a vacation in my life??!!

The six of us, Brock, Ramon, Ash, Molly, Kristi and myself had a blast together.

With Covid still rearing it's nasty head, we were very impressed with the safety and restrictions in place for a safe trip. It wasn't necessary to take a Covid test going into Mexico but we needed one to return back to the states. All arranged by the hotel for $23.00 as opposed to the $198.00 charged in the US for a rapid PCR test. Masks were required inside buildings, stores and restaurants. Cab drivers also wore masks, so we felt safe.

Molly and Ash were staying at the Marriott down the street so we would go between the two properties to hang out on the beach every day. Kristi, or Kitty as we call her, had a two bedroom suite with a full kitchen so we would make breakfast and lunch in the condo.

At night we would venture downtown to enjoy some of the delicious restaurants Cancun has to offer. A couple of our favorites were, Socio Naiz, a great taco restaurant serving some local, traditional recipes, and La Habichuela, a delicious seafood restaurant.

Fun times on the beach with Ash being relentless taking photos and videos. The artist in him inspiring us all with great energy and lots of laughter.

The weather was so beautiful, with sunny, cloudy days. The most beautiful puffy white clouds against the gorgeous turquoise Caribbean. Cool temperatures at night but the days were pleasant. Truly a fun week with plans already in progress to return next year at the same time.
